Q: What is reinstatement?
A: A reinstatement is a license to reactivate an annual plan that has lapsed. If you own a perpetual license and have not kept up to date with yearly renewals to get access to the latest features and improvements, then you require a reinstatement to get access to the latest version of your software.
Q: Are annual renewals being discontinued as well?
A: No. If you own a perpetual license and are currently on an active plan (you either purchased a new perpetual license or renewed your Updates & Support plan within the last year) you may continue to stay current by purchasing an annual renewal each year.
Q: Does this spell the end of perpetual altogether?
A: Avid has discontinued the perpetual licensing. If you own a perpetual license with an active plan, you can continue to stay up to date with the latest versions of your software by purchasing an annual renewal each year (GET CURRENT).
Q: I am on an Active plan. Does this mean that next time I go to purchase my annual renewal I will be required to cross-grade to a subscription?
A: No. If you are on an active plan, you can continue to purchase your annual renewal. Renewals are not being discontinued.
Q: I am not on an active plan. If I don’t purchase a reinstatement in 2019 will I have to pay the full price for my software next time I want to upgrade?
A: No. While reinstatements are being discontinued as of December 31, 2019, you will still have the opportunity to get current without re-paying full price for your Avid software by cross-grading to a subscription. By cross-grading, you will get a discount on your subscription for two years.

A: You can purchase a reinstatement from us till stocks last.
