DPA Microphones and its Indian distributor, Ansata, recently hosted a workshop in Mumbai, introducing the manufacturer’s products and accessories to the invited attendees from the local broadcast and production sectors . The workshop was presented by Bo Brinck, global sales support manager at DPA, and Dipanshu Mitra, Product Manager of Ansata’s pro audio division, who discussed key aspects of on-location and broadcast sound.
The engineers in attendance took part in discussions and Q&A sessions covering topics such as frequency dependent radiation patterns for human speech and microphone positioning. Following the workshop, Mr Brinck stated that the audience was engaged throughout, continually exchanging ideas and raising relevant questions.
“The workshop in Mumbai was extremely positive,” said Mr Mitra. “We discussed the use of various models of DPA microphones and connectors, emphasising modularity and flexibility for various applications and for use with wireless systems in addition to understanding the use of grilles and acoustic equalisers. We also ran a few live miking examples, explaining applications for various on-location and broadcast scenarios. We’re glad that the initiative received such a warm and encouraging response and are grateful to Bo for sharing his valuable time and knowledge with us and also to DPA for their invaluable support in organising this workshop.”
Ansata and DPA received positive feedback from those in attendance, with one audio engineer, Anthony Joshy, stating that the training would enhance the quality of work for those in attendance. The distributor therefore is looking to continue with its workshop initiative.
“We’re going to continue organising seminars on a regular basis because we want to see our industry professionals grow in terms of their knowledge in audio technology and its application in their day-to-day work,” concluded Ansata’s Leslie Lean. “We want to do our bit by offering top quality knowledge and support that will complement products that we represent in India.”
