Stay on top of your mix with one or more Display Modules, which provide extensive and unique visual feedback. Not only can you view multiple channel meters, track names, routing, groups, and other information, but also insightful data that will elevate your mixing experience. View high-resolution scrolling Pro Tools waveforms, which you can edit right from the surface. Display track automation data, gain reduction metering, EQ curves, and more. And with the latest EUCON software, you can now turn the display into a Master Meter Module, so you can keep your Master and Bus meters visible at all times.

That’s because it features EUCON, a high-speed Ethernet-based technology that enables the hardware to communicate directly with any EUCON-enabled application—and vice-versa. And because it’s application-aware, you can switch from a Pro Tools project to Logic Pro, Nuendo, and other audio software in seconds.
New features
Bring S6 to your attention
With the latest EUCON software, you can now set how S6 reacts to actions you perform in your DAW. Simply select the behaviors and DAW areas you’d like to engage to attention in your EUCON General settings. For example, if you select “Name” to be actionable, you can click on any track name in your DAW and S6 will automatically attention that same track on its surface. Or select “Fader” and whenever you click on a fader in your software, S6 will automatically put that fader into focus.
Work faster and more flexibly
You can also now have Plug-in, Pan, and Send windows open and close automatically whenever you select them for editing to speed things along. You can also suspend all faders from following automation, view fader values in track name displays for a custom length of time, enable/disable all plugin automation with a surface shortcut, control soft keys using GPIs, activate GPOs from soft keys, control faders externally using GPIs, and control Thinklogical KVM matrix switches via Ethernet.
Navigate sessions more easily
When using S6 with Pro Tools, the surface now fully supports ICON-favorite “Scroll to Track” and “Scroll into View” features, making it easy to scroll Pro Tools windows and bank your control surface accordingly to get to the tracks you need faster. With Scroll to Track, you can quickly search for and scroll to a track by typing the first few letters of the track’s name. With Scroll into View, you can quickly scroll a track into view by clicking on the track name.
Remote control your S6
Wish you could step away from your console and be in the same room as the performer you’re recording? With the free Pro Tools | Control app, you can control track recording, playback, and other transport functions on your S6 remotely from an iPad. It’s ideal for capturing ADR and Foley performances. And it gives you the flexibility to position yourself anywhere in the studio while mixing a music or audio post session.
Command multiple DAWs at once
Mixing a large-scale music, movie, or TV post-production session that spans multiple audio workstations can be a logistical challenge. S6 provides easy control, enabling you to send commands from your Soft Keys to all connected DAWs simultaneously to save a session, punch out of automation, and perform other tasks in concert as one.
